Marco Brambilla’s Evolution with stereoscopic FX by The Mill NY

Monday, December 06, 2010

'Dazed Digital' previewed artist/director Marco Brambilla's latest crowd pleaser, Evolution. Like his 2008 installation at New York City's Standard Hotel, Civilization, classic film clips are married in a narrative of epic scope.

Says Brambilla to Dazed Digital, "I wanted to superimpose pop culture onto a historic and deeply human theme. Evolution deals with the history of mankind and the kind of purging and re-purging of humanity throughout history. …"

Mill TV helps bring drama to Corrie's explosive tram crash

Monday, December 06, 2010

Tonight is the night that all Coronation Street fans have been waiting for... a dramatic tram crash hits the famous cobbles and promises life for the residents of Weatherfield will never be the same again!

Our Mill TV team worked on 18 shots from tonight's explosive episode, which marks the start of a special week of programming to celebrate the soap's 50th Anniversary that also includes a live episode.

Will Cohen, The Mill's Visual Effects Producer said:  "It was an absolute honour and a thrill for us to have been involved in such an iconic TV event for Britain's longest running and much loved show.  I'm sure the scene will go down in television history and if we've done our jobs right, hopefully the viewer won't even be able to tell we've been there."

See if you can spot the shots by tuning into Coronation Street tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1 and check back here tomorrow to find out how we brought our VFX magic to the Street.
