Collaborating once again with Team 5, Director Rama Allen led a team of Mill+ artists to bring the atmospheric title sequence for Viking’s 4th season to life.
Building on the idea of the space between life and death, paired with their findings about the Vikings' traditional, ritual based culture, the team created a mournful and visceral sequence that represents the loss of life and family.
Rama comments, "The goal of this sequence is to place the viewer in a cold, lonely, primal, violent, ancient, supernatural, sensual, and haunting world. We’re building in intensity so that, you know, by the time the first frame of the show starts we’ve already transported the viewer from their everyday reality into the reality of the show. That’s what a title sequence does, it eases the viewer into the bath. So you have to know the show really, really well and create something that always works, on every single episode, on all of the seasons.”
