To mark the release of CHANEL’s New Limited-edition N°5 L’EAU fragrance, The Mill Paris teams produced and directed a monumental film for the Sphere in Las Vegas. A truly exclusive project as it is the first time a luxury perfume brand has hosted a film on this spectacular screen, as well as the very first live-action video to be featured on it.
One drop of freshness to shape a unique fragrance.
It all started in 1952, when Marilyn Monroe revealed she wore only CHANEL’s N°5 perfume to bed. 70 years later, the brand decided to pay tribute and celebrate this icon by reissuing a modern version of N°5, featuring an ergonomic bottle symbolizing a drop and a new scent trail characterized by vibrant and fresh abstract floral notes.
The Mill Paris had the opportunity to assist CHANEL throughout the production process by crafting the N°5 L’EAU fragrance campaign and directing it, playing with refractions in the water to enhance the visual appeal and mystique of the fragrance. The above film is the continuation of this ambitious campaign and was released on June 18, 2024 on Sphere, one of the world's largest LED screens with a peaking 112 metres of height at its broadest point!
Composed of no less than 1.2 million puck lights, it required a 4K resolution and a unique approach as there was to be no 3D involved in the creation process. To ensure a seamless transition all around the sphere, the film was shot in live-action and went through many adaptations to fit the specifications of the screen. Despite the project's vast scope and heavy technical requirements, Mill+ teams were able to complete the film in about a month under Stéphane Pivron's guidance, a testament to the collaborative energy and great involvement on both Mill+ team and CHANEL's party.
